Welcome to Precision Atomics
Founded in 2013, Precision Atomics was formed to manufacture and further develop a sputter system which was designed and built at the University of Cambridge Engineering Department to meet the needs of a world-class research laboratory.
A sophisticated microcontroller based control system and intuitive software interface together with an integrated film thickness monitor greatly simplifies the sputtering process whilst maintaining versatility through either recipe-driven or manually controlled sputtering processes.
The system comes with an integrated database which logs comprehensive details of all processes - material, gas flow, pressure, power and film thickness.
The system chamber can hold up to six 4" (100mm) wafers, each of which can be coated with many layers of up to four different materials, in any order.
The Metallifier sputter coater features an intuitive graphical interface which allows novices to use the system without the danger of destroying system components.
What people are saying about our system ...
"A beautifully intuitive user interface. The Precision Atomics sputter system is stable, responsive and, above all else, reliable. An essential and affordable work horse for any established and growing laboratory.”
Dr. Matt Cole, Oppenheimer Research Fellow, University of Cambridge
“The Precision Atomics sputter system has an excellent user friendly interface that allows full control and a clear overview of the sputtering process. With its recipe editor, the metal sputter allows users to automate the sputtering of layers of different materials on a sample easily. In addition, the processes are highly reproducible and can be tuned for different requirements. With this equipment we have been able to produce high quality metal coatings for growth of nanomaterials. The stability and ease of use of the sputtering system make it a must to have in any thin film laboratory.”
